Detours Happen
Everyone has an off day now and then. Sometimes it is a busy day, a vacation, a holiday, or a celebration with food that is absolutely worth enjoying. Maybe you skipped breakfast, grabbed whatever was nearby, forgot to track, or ended the day face-to-face with a cookie that clearly had a very strong personality.
It happens.
One day does not erase your progress. One meal does not define your health. And one detour does not mean you failed. It simply means you are human.
Aim for 85%, Not Perfect
At MedChefs, we believe in 85% consistency, not 100% perfection. Your health is built by what you do most of the time, not by one meal, one snack, or one day that went sideways.
Perfect is not part of the recipe. It is impossible to sustain, and honestly, not that fun. Real progress comes from learning how to return when life pulls you out of rhythm.
Rebound With One Good Choice
After a detour, the best thing you can do is make one good next choice.
Drink some water. Add a fruit or vegetable. Choose a meal that helps you close a Ring. Take a walk if that feels good. You do not need to punish yourself, skip meals, or “make up for it.” That usually just leads to more stress, more hunger, and a harder time getting back on track.
Just come back with one small choice that supports you.
Keep Going
One day is just one data point.
You are not defined by your worst day, your messiest meal, or one choice that did not go as planned. For a more accurate view, go to your Stats page and look at your progress bars over 30 days. That gives you a much better picture of your progress.
Notice the detour, reset without shame, and take the next step. Healthy habits are built one real-life choice at a time.
